I get it. Really. I do.
Here's the truth. There's no single yes or no. It depends.
- On your intention.
- On your content.
- On the music you add.
- On the clothes you wear.
- On the products you promote.
Think of a knife. You can use it to cut fruit for your family. That's good. You can use it to hurt someone. That's evil. The knife didn't change. You changed.
Being an influencer is exactly like that. Your phone is just a tool. What matters is what you do with it.
Let me break it down simply. No complicated words. No scholar talk. Just honest advice from one Muslim to another.
Read that again.
Every morning before you pick up your phone. Say these words from your heart. Ya Allah. Today I'm doing this for You. Not for likes. Not for money. Just for You.
Allah warns us in the Quran. Surah Luqman verse 6. He says there are people who buy idle talks. They use these idle talks to mislead others from Allah's path. The Prophet's companions explained that idle talks means singing and musical instruments.
Islam commands modesty. For both men and women. Allah says in the Quran. Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. And not expose their beauty except what normally shows.
Allah hates liars. The Quran says Allah does not guide a liar. The Prophet said the truthful merchant will sit next to the prophets on Judgment Day.
So be honest. If a product has a flaw. Say it. If you used a filter. Write it. If a free product broke after two days. Tell your followers. Your audience will trust you more. And trust is worth more than any payment.
The Prophet said Allah cursed alcohol. The one who drinks it. The one who serves it. The one who sells it. The one who buys it. If a company offers you money for these things. Refuse. Block them. You don't need that money. Allah will give you something better.
Allah says in Surah Al Asr. By time. Every human is in loss. Except those who believe and do good deeds.
So don't say it's impossible. It's very possible.
Then make dua. Say Ya Allah I didn't know before. Now I know. Forgive me.
Allah says in the Quran. Say to my servants who have wronged themselves. Do not lose hope in Allah's mercy. Indeed Allah forgives all sins.
All sins.
Being an influencer is exactly like that. Your phone is just a tool. What matters is what you do with it.
Let me break it down simply. No complicated words. No scholar talk. Just honest advice from one Muslim to another.
Your Intention Comes First
The Prophet ï·º gave us a golden rule. He said every action depends on the intention behind it. And every person will get what they aimed for.Read that again.
Two people can make the exact same video. Same editing. Same lighting. Same product. One gets reward from Allah. The other earns sin. How? Intention.
Example one (good intention)
- A sister starts a modest fashion channel.
- She wants to help other Muslim women find affordable hijabs.
- Her goal is to please Allah.
- Her work becomes worship.
- Every person she helps- That's a good deed for her.
Example two (bad intention)
- Another sister makes similar videos.
- But her heart is full of pride.
- She wants people to call her beautiful.
- She wants fame. She wants attention.
- The content looks the same. But in front of Allah? Completely different.
So before you do anything. Sit quietly for two minutes. Ask yourself honestly. Why am I doing this? If your answer scares you. Change it. You can fix your intention right now. Without deleting anything.
Every morning before you pick up your phone. Say these words from your heart. Ya Allah. Today I'm doing this for You. Not for likes. Not for money. Just for You.
That small habit will change everything. Trust me.
When Influencing Becomes Haram
Now let me list the red lines. Cross any of these. Your income becomes questionable. Your deeds become dangerous.Music Is Completely Haram. No Exceptions.
Let me say this loud and clear. Music is haram in Islam. Not just the bad songs. Not just the ones with dirty words. Every type of music. Soft piano. Lo-fi beats. Emotional violin. Classical pieces. Electronic sounds. Background score in a nature documentary. All of it. Haram.Allah warns us in the Quran. Surah Luqman verse 6. He says there are people who buy idle talks. They use these idle talks to mislead others from Allah's path. The Prophet's companions explained that idle talks means singing and musical instruments.
Surah Luqman Ayat 6

| Open Quran showing verse about idle talks and music from Surah Luqman |
The Prophet عَÙ„َÙŠْÙ‡ِ ٱلسَّÙ„َامُ himself gave a strong warning. He said a time will come when people from his nation will make three things lawful. Alcohol. Silk for men. And musical instruments. Notice something important. He placed music right next to alcohol. That's how serious this sin is.
Now think about your videos. When you add a trending song. You commit a sin yourself. But it gets worse. You also help thousands of people listen to that song. Every single person who hears that music because of your video carries a sin. And a copy of that sin goes to you.
The Prophet عَÙ„َÙŠْÙ‡ِ ٱلسَّÙ„َامُ said whoever invites others to sin. He carries a burden equal to all those who follow him. Without reducing their sins at all. So your viral reel with 100,000 views. That's 100,000 shares of sin coming your way and on top of all this. You're getting paid. YouTube gives you money. TikTok gives you money. Instagram pays you. That money is not halal. You earned it by spreading something Allah clearly forbade.
Some influencers go even further. They sing. They record their voice with auto-tune and effects. They upload these songs to Spotify and YouTube Music. They earn every time someone streams their voice. This income is completely haram. No debate.
So what should you do? Remove every music track from your videos. Every single one. Don't be lazy. Use your voice alone. People subscribe to hear you. Not a beat. Use natural sounds. Rain falling. Ocean waves. Wind blowing. Fire cracking. These are halal. These are beautiful. Use silence. Yes silence. When there's no background music. People actually focus on your words more carefully. If a brand offers you money to add music. You refuse politely. Even if they offer ten thousand dollars. Even if they offer fifty thousand. Say sorry. My deen is not for sale.

Cover Your Body Properly
Another huge problem. Tight clothes. Short sleeves. See through fabric. Guys without shirts. Girls with heavy makeup trying to attract attention.Islam commands modesty. For both men and women. Allah says in the Quran. Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. And not expose their beauty except what normally shows.
Your body is a trust from Allah. You cannot display it for millions of strangers. Every person who looks at you with a bad intention. You share that sin.
If you want to be a fashion influencer. Promote modest fashion. Abayas. Hijabs. Loose shirts. Long dresses. There's a huge market for this. International brands want modest creators. You can earn good halal money without losing your deen.

Never Lie About Products
This happens constantly. An influencer says this tea made me lose ten kilos in one week. Lie. This cream changed my skin color in three days. Lie. This watch is real gold when it's fake. Lie. They use filters that change their whole face. Then they pretend that's how they naturally look.Allah hates liars.
Don't Promote Haram Products
Do not promote alcohol. Do not promote pork. Do not promote gambling apps. Do not promote interest based loans. Do not promote dating apps. Do not promote music streaming services. The Prophet said Allah cursed alcohol. The one who drinks it. The one who serves it. The one who sells it. The one who buys it. If a company offers you money for these things. Refuse. Block them. You don't need that money. Allah will give you something better.
Don't Waste Your Whole Day
Many influencers lose track of time. They wake up. Grab their phone. Scroll for an hour. Record for two hours. Edit for three hours. Reply to comments for another hour. Then scroll again before sleep. Before they know it. Asr prayer is gone. Maghrib passed. Isha delayed. No Quran read. No family time.Allah says in Surah Al Asr. By time. Every human is in loss. Except those who believe and do good deeds.
Surah Al Asr - Ayat 103
Set a limit. Two or three hours a day for content. That's it. When prayer time comes. Put your phone down. Go make wudu. Pray on time. Your followers won't visit your grave.
The Halal Path That Works
Now the good news. You can earn serious halal money. Teach something useful.
Here are some ideas for halal content
- Teach wudu in sixty seconds.
- Explain a short surah from the Quran.
- Show halal recipes without music.
- Review halal snacks available at your local store.
- Give marriage advice from an Islamic perspective.
- Talk about controlling anger using the Sunnah.

I know a sister. She only reviews halal lip balms and hijabs. No music. No tight clothes. No lies. She earns seven thousand dollars a month. Alhamdulillah. Her followers trust her completely.
So don't say it's impossible. It's very possible.
If You Already Made Mistakes
Don't panic. We all made mistakes. Stop today. No more music. Go to old videos. Mute them or delete them. Estimate how much money you earned from musical videos. Give that amount to charity. You're just cleaning your money. Then make dua. Say Ya Allah I didn't know before. Now I know. Forgive me.
Allah says in the Quran. Say to my servants who have wronged themselves. Do not lose hope in Allah's mercy. Indeed Allah forgives all sins.
All sins.
